DTE-2025: Down To Earth 2025

The Department of Civil Engineering at SMIT is going to organize its second international conference, Down to Earth (DTE-2025), focused on Natural Hazards: Risk Analysis and Mitigation. This event will take place from November 13th to 15th, 2025, at SMIT in Sikkim, India. The conference aims to bring together leading experts, researchers, and professionals to tackle critical challenges related to climate change, disaster resilience, and risk mitigation. Participants will explore innovative strategies for assessing and mitigating hydrological, geotechnical, and earthquake hazards while integrating engineering innovations for natural hazard assessment. Additionally, discussions will emphasize environmental hazards, disaster-resilient infrastructure, and sustainable solutions for water security and environmental risk management. Your expertise and contributions will provide invaluable insights and inspire meaningful discussions among participants.

Submissions will centre on the following themes, while also considering additional relevant topics: hydrological hazard assessment and mitigation, environmental hazards, geotechnical and earthquake hazards and disaster resilient infrastructure.
