Since its first edition in 1992, AVI has become an influential space for encounters among scholars and practitioners interested in interfaces, interactions, and experiences. Rooted in research on visual interfaces and characterised by a distinctive attention to the human factor, the conference has evolved across the different waves of HCI. It has addressed the pragmatic and hedonic needs of heterogeneous people up to the current challenge of self-actualisation: the realisation of a person’s full potential. The explosion of generative AI presents both opportunities and challenges to human creativity, touching on fundamental issues related to agency, politics, and ethics. They represent the fundamental themes of this year’s edition.

This conference invites submissions addressing, though not exclusively, the following areas: human computer interaction, user experience design, extended reality and cultural heritage.
